Hi! I'm Veronica -
I moved to Boulder Colorado nearly 4 years ago for school, but I was born and raised in New Jersey! Currently a senior at CU Boulder studying International Affairs and Italian, and I’m set to graduate in the Spring.
I have always loved making all kinds of art ! I take a lot of inspiration from my friends in my art, I like to try to capture real moments or feelings that happened. My art also involved a lot of femininity and idealized female figures, somewhat subconsciously, but isn't that one of the most cardinal themes of all art?
Some stencils :P
Another big influence is the underground culture around Jersey - the hardcore music scene is insane. I grew up sneaking out to go to shows in basements and under bridges, smelling like smoke and spray paint.
I pull a lot of inspiration from graffiti art. Tagging is a form of art and self-expression like any other, and paintings can carry a lot of symbols and meaning that seem inconspicuous given the context. Stencils are a fun and relatively easy way to get into tagging : draw a design & cut out the negative space - now all you need is a can of paint !

Hiking w the pals in Boulder
I’ve only been here 4 years, but that’s long enough to see that Boulder has an undeniable artistic culture as well - bright, bubbly, colorful, and psychedelic. How could anyone not love the outdoors when you live on the base of a mountain? The insane natural beauty and the college fashion culture has brought a colorful psychedelic quality to my work that is unique to Boulder.
What kind of art does Veronica make?
Not enough!
I mostly paint and illustrate (working with physical mediums like graphite, charcoal, markers, pens, etc…), with some dabbling in the other areas. I just started playing the drum set, I write, and I edit videos. Digital art is not completely foreign to me, but I DEFINITELY need more experience. Painting on paper or canvas can feel so restricting - I like how digital art seems to offer more freedom to rework, collaborate, or share a piece in a way that traditional media doesn’t offer.
But anyways, here is some of my art!
